What is Dukkah?
Dukkah (pronounced doo-kah), is a Middle Eastern mixture of toasted nuts, seeds, and savoury spices. It’s believed to have originated in Egypt. It’s always vegan and normally gluten free. Dukkah is derived from the Arabic word “to pound” or crush.
Dukkah can be used for seasoning vegetables, crusting meat and fish, and adding to olive oil for dipping bread.
